Week 29 Highlights

So I got a little smart this week and started the blog post on Sunday, when I had some time to enjoy the couch.  So the fat cat Sass and I are sitting here enjoying.

Thursday was a big deal of a day. As mentioned in last weeks post, Julie and I had a big deal of a webcast. There was no snow day as we had prepared for...there wasn't even a delayed start.  So the whole day was about getting ready for the big deal.

We locked ourselves in the conference room around 11:30 with our lunch to get ready. I even had to print my presenter notes. If you know me, thats a sad day to have to print.  We had to log in 30 minutes early to check audio and such. Good thing we did, we needed to change or microphone. Luckily, I have a super fancy one.  I was really worried I was going to pee myself in the middle of this interview because I was so nervous. Thankfully, that didn't happen. It only took 2 bathroom breaks before the start to feel confident.  It was wild to watch the participant list grow. It was super nice a couple friendly names were on that list. It made me feel a little better. Thanks Gwynn for the kinds words too! She  chatted with us during the Q&A session.  The webcast seemed like it went well. I was happy to have it done. However, it was funny to get an email for a new project right before the webcast.  So I'll be heading to LA for a couple days for that. As one friend says... more soon.

After the webcast there was a few minutes for debrief and a bathroom break. We let the office know about our success and it was time for carpool. It was a snowy miserable carpool- I felt so terrible I wasn't helping.  Luckily the super awesome Nick, went out and helped. He is totally underpaid.

Once I got home, I stayed there and enjoyed the snow from my couch. I was mentally exhausted from the webcast. I confirmed my participation in LA project... and also got myself involved in another. Both will have more details later; but they are both great opportunities.

Friday I was tired; but the day was good. I have moved my middle school class from a modular to the library. It makes it so nice to be close to a bathroom. Before, I was having to hold off on fluids until after class because there was no way to get through a whole class. My kindie class was easy and the rest of the day was interrupted. Oh, and we started the day with Donuts for dads. Which is pandemonium and tons of sugar. The bonus- I got 3 donuts and some fruit for breakfast. They were so good.  The end of my Friday was something I have looked forward to for a while. Steve Spangler the Science guy was coming to our school with Kathy Sabine. She is a meteorologist for channel 9... and a parent. I was so thankful to the Fergusons for helping get set up. It was such a fun hour. I was probably more excited about the assembly than the kids. Both very nice and took photos and complimented our students.  That assembly took all the time we had for the day. So I had no classes for the afternoon.  Friday night, I rested and was super mellow. I needed that.

Here is a link to the video put together by 9News. You only see our school for a little while but you get how fun it was.

Saturday was a mellow day as well. Lots of resting and lounging. This was supposed to be the weekend dear sweet grandpa moved to his new house; but did not. So the hubs and I got to spend the weekend together. It was nice. I also worked on a phase to new project with a friend. Her and I have so much similar in our lives. Shared time in Australia, Google certified in Australia, crazy schedules, and she has a sweet little girl. I'm excited she will be in Palm Springs and we can catch up. Her and I got a lot of work done. I also was crazy obsessed with food. Little girl is certainly growing and getting bigger. I couldn't eat enough. I made the husband take me to Popeye's for popcorn shrimp and a drink from Sonic. Honestly- I just wanted to eat the ice out of a drink... but don't get me wrong- that watermelon slush was good. Popeyes I was dipping cocktail sauce into mashed potatoes. It was good too.  The rest of the day was about eating, and resting, and surfing the internet. A day much needed.

Sunday was another mellow day. It was supposed to snow- and we saw nothing at our house. Not a sad thing when you want to go get groceries. I lounged, posted a blog from last week. The hubs and I tromped out for groceries and  little girl was sitting right on my bladder. I know this because I had to pee before we left, 10 minutes later when we got to the store- had to go again, got to the back of the store- had to go again. Got home- had to go again. It was crazy. Then I was hungry from bringing in the groceries. So I had cheddar sour cream chips, dipped in spinach artichoke dip. Yep, I did that. And it was good. then I ordered pizza and had 2 slices dipped in ranch. Luckily- I got full and stopped. Holy cow- as I told my mom "its pretty full on right now. " Weird thing is- I either want really terrible food for me or really healthy like veggies and smoothies.  I need to watch as this little 3 pound girl will double to triple her weight before delivery. I cannot double to triple my weight in the process. Another new development- sweet pea knows how to use her elbows. There was a moment when I literally said "oh" because it was the sharpest movement I have felt.
Here's how Sass decided to spend her Sunday- by the fire taking a nap with her favorite toy... a piece of rope and a piece of cardboard she loves to claw on.

I ended up not sleeping very well Sunday night. I woke up thinking about all the crazy that was coming my way. Monday started standardized testing in our school. That means that I would be running all over the building helping with technical problems. This was also the first day of many that would be busy and without stop until I stop... stop is baby shower day. It was in fact a busy day. I moved a lot and was on my feet a lot.  Needless to day, we learned a lot. I ended up going to costco to get some things. More walking. I was super proud that I didn't buy the red velvet cake and instead opted for fruit. Watermelon has been on my want list for a while and I was finally able to have some. SO GOOD! Getting all that stuff up the stairs was a lot of work. My feet were so tired. I had to take a break between trips. Then I started thinking.... How will I do this with a baby ? there is no way I can lift a carrier and stuff.  I'm sure we will figure it out; but it was a reality.  The rest of the day was spent with my feet up and sitting on the couch, eating watermelon and frosted mini wheats.

The next morning my feet were sore. I was tired. So I had to suck it up, feel real attractive, and put on my compression socks. They really did help; but yeah, thats pretty not awesome. The day went better and I was able to rest my feet some more. Tuesday night I was able to get some errands done and I ended up with a red velvet cupcake. It was a nice treat for the night. I got some sleep and I was happy that I did.

Wednesday was another full day that flew by. The highlight being that I had the chance to catch up with my friend Brandon. We had a district IT meeting. It was not an exciting meeting but getting to see my friend was awesome. We enjoyed a nice dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and we were there for a good few hours.  I didn't have pizza but the shrimp scampi was delicious. So was the key lime pie.  The best was the conversation. A great way to end the "20s".  The next week will be super busy with a trip to Palm Springs to present and a high danger drive to LA for a training. Then a couple days at work, a doctors appointment and ultrasound that I am super excited about, and of course a baby shower.

Other things noted daily. I am astounded the we are already getting baby gifts. People are incredibly kind and generous.  Here' s one of them :

Another week of growing... in the books and a lot of red streaks around my middle. Stretching body because someone needs to keep growing.
